Grading: Grades will be determined as follows:

Specific point values are assigned for each packet, project or test. These points are added together and divided by the total possible points to obtain the class grade.

Requirements:

General:

Students will be required to maintain a minimum average of 65% throughout the year, including the final exam. This is only the minimum grade and should not be considered a mastery level.

Students will work based on the NY State learning standards. All projects will include rubrics which describe the work students are expected to do to maintain specific levels of work.

Materials:

You will be required to bring a pen or pencil to class each day. In addition you may choose to bring a folder or binder for science to keep past tests in.

Note that New York State now has a required test at the end of the year. All students must take this required exam!

You will work on:

Packets: Primarily made up of hands on experiments relating to each topic of study.

Projects: These include multi-media projects, research projects, and a variety of other types.
