in the first round, this year has seen some changes.  For starters, in this year, the Wolverines have already defeated Jasper-Troopsburg, who were 9-0 at the time, in a close game of 46-43 which has not been recently done.   Also for the first time in five years, BR defeated Genesee Valley twice in one year.  When asked to summarize his team this year, Coach Wight says, “If the team continues to work hard, and work up to their full potential, we have the capability of making a good run in sectionals.”

Text Box: With most of the season completed, the Girls Varsity Basketball team has climbed to a 9-4 record with strong hopes for sectionals. Coach Wight has a positive outlook of the teams finished games. “We have a record of 9-4 currently, but those four losses came from good teams. We didn’t necessarily play bad, we just played good teams and didn’t get the breaks.”
The Lady Wolverines are looking to continue improving especially for the post season. They’re record has them currently ranked 2nd in the C schools behind Keshequa who holds a record of 9-5. With many competitive teams in the class, the Lady Wolverines look to improve upon many various things. “The area we’ve probably improved most in this year has probably been our defense,” says Coach Wight. “It must continue to improve if we hope to be successful in section

als.  Offensively, we need to be find more confidence in scoring.  We currently average about 40 points per game and increasing that average is important for sectional play.”

However, the Wolverines aren’t looking ahead to sectionals quite yet.  With an undefeated record in the Expressway Conference and only one loss in the Allegany Count League, the Lady Wolverines look for a chance to claim championships in both leagues.  In Allegany County the Wolverines are ranked 2nd with a league record of 2-1 behind an undefeated Fillmore (12-2).  In the Expressway Conference, Bolivar-Richburg holds an undefeated record of 6-0 and will take on the Franklinville Lady Panthers tomorrow night.

Looking back to last year BR has seen many improvements.  Finishing last year with a record of 14-7 and were knocked out of sectionals
